((I hate missing this much.. Ah well, time to pick myself up by my bootstraps.))
*A large contingent of the FLAT type suits, four squadrons worth, proceed down the road, doubtless thinking they can traipse right down between the cliffs with nothing more than some overhead fire. Overhead fire they do receive, but they make hast and don’t receive much damage. Soon they near a place between a bluff on either side.. a very small pass populated by 8 automated Valkyries behind and to the sides of one, very different suit. It almost looks like it emits light to one who sees it.. but of that the viewer cannot be certain. My suit bends the available light, time, and space around it, causing it to be very difficult to focus on. My special phasing armor does all of this as well as making me completely invisible to their tracking screens.*
Hello gents.
*The Valkyries to my port and starboard begin opening fire on the Flats, as do I. I pop off shot after shot, but before the Flat suits can return more than a few shots, they start being picked off by fire from above, as 4 Valks with rail guns are stationed atop the cliffs. While the Flats are distracted, I fire off four of my concussion missiles in an even spread at the front line of the rebel contingent. Most of those in the front lines are instantly destroyed, as they are already weakened. Those behind them also receive much of the blast and are thrown back. The Flat suits fire through the smoke, as to the Valks, though without visibility, targeting is severely hindered, especially for the Flat suits, which are manned. As soon as the smoke clears, though, they all take aim at each other; but those who had planned on making my suit their mark were sorely surprised as I am nowhere to be seen. They find my position soon enough, though, as I make it known to them.*
Hello again!
*I am up high in the air, though not quite above the coverage of the cliffs, hovering over my enemy. I begin firing quickly at those below me, but making sure to aim and shoot, taking out each threat at a time in a strategic manner. Every time I get a small window amidst the fire, I take a moment to launch a few advanced concussion missiles at the back of the group to both hinder retreat and destroy them before they can bring their weapons to bear on my groups. Before long the group is thinned out to only a few mechs in the back of the group and a couple full lines in the front. I direct my Valkyries down below, which have sustained a little damage from the oncoming fire despite their shielding, to take evasive action while they continue to fire at the front lines. The four Valks from above, I order to go ahead and come down to take on the Flats head-on so that they cannot get through the pass. I myself launch two more missiles at the front lines to knock some of them out and provide a chance for my Valks to change position a bit. I, myself, jump down into the fray behind the main lines.*
*I thrust toward the ground and disengage my flight mechanisms. As I hurtle toward the ground, I draw my masamune and charge it up. I hit the ground and thrust the sword sideways into the chests of two flat suits that are side-by-side. I follow up with a diagonal slice at another Flat that is right on top of me. After that I have some space to engage a neatly-executed spin attack right as other Flats are moving in on me. I take out each an every one of them. Within a couple of minutes of deft close-range fighting, the entire rear is taken out and the front line has thinned so much that some of the friendly fire from my Valkyries is starting to come through and endanger my own suit. I order them to cease fire and I charge at the un-expecting remaining line of flat suits. A swing of my masamune cuts through the midsection of three of them, allowing me to run through the dazed group and return to the squadron under my command. Immediately I order a massive arms sweep to finish off the remains. I stop it almost as soon as it has begun. One slightly damaged Flat suit remains from this contingent, which smartly takes the opportunity to turn tail and run.*
That’s no coward. He’s stood here through all of this. He just has common sense.
*I turn around and smile. I am very pleased to find that I have not lost a single Valkyrie from my squadron. I head up over the cliffs to the more plain-like land above, where the majority of the battle is going on. I see a transport overhead wreaking havoc on our forces overhead with an ion cannon.*
Why doesn’t Lord Bhaal bring in his own support craft? It looks like we’re losing a lot to that thing.
*While I have a moment, I check the status of a few key players; namely Bhaal, Reiche, and Kayl. I am horrified.*
Oh my God.. The treachery…
*I don’t let myself think about it. I plunge right back into battle, finding as many formidable manned rebel suits to take out as possible. Uprisings rely heavily on leadership. I’d like to cause there to be as few leaders as possible.*
